i recently wrote about sliced, a new sandwich joint in the financial district. luckily, i was able to sample various items on their menu, one of which featured cheese. the cheddar and pickle sandwich matches hunks of balderson cheddar with a medley of house-made pickles, pressed between slices of fresh bread from st. john’s bakery. always a fan of cheddar, this one was aged two years, and the sharpness was a great match for the sweetness of the homemade pickle blend. it can also be grilled, which it would’ve made it even more delicious.
